District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced Sunday the launch of the Suffolk County Fraud Fighters – a multi-agency organization to help Boston, Chelsea, Revere and Winthrop residents spot scams and avoid schemes soliciting money.

Maine lighthouse platform collapse injures nearly a dozen people

The Doubling Point Lighthouse bridge platform collapsed Saturday afternoon, leaving nearly a dozen people injured.

Emergency officials were dispatched to the location of the collapse near the Arrowsic coast around 1 p.m. Saturday, according to News Center Maine. Paramedics treated six people on the scene and brought five others to a nearby hospital, Deputy Fire Chief Chris Cummings said.

A Norwood, Massachusetts, man who survived a car collision in November was reunited with the first responders who saved his life on Wednesday morning.

Man stole more than a dozen packages from apartment building in Mattapan

Boston police are trying to identify a man accused of stealing multiple packages from an apartment complex in Mattapan.

According to police, a resident reported several opened packages and the smell of cigarettes in the lobby of the building on River. The suspect was captured on surveillance video forcing his way into the building, stealing nearly 20-25 packages and damaging others.

A 14-year-old working as a scare actor was left with serious injuries after she was run over by a hayride trailer at a Rhode Island farm Saturday while working as a scare actor, WJAR reports.

Smithfield Deputy Fire Chief Steven Quattrini said first responders were called to Seven Cedars Farm around 8 p.m. for someone who was hit by a trailer during the haunted hayride attraction. There were around 20 to 30 people on the ride at the time.

Man arrested in stabbing at Roxbury shelter

A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing another person at a shelter for unhoused people in Roxbury on Saturday, Boston police said.

Alexander Aulet, 40, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after the incident was reported about 9:44 p.m. Saturday night at the Southampton Street Shelter, police said.

The victim was wounded in the shoulder and lower back but is expected to survive, according to Boston police.
